About Crying Wolf Homestead

Crying Wolf Homestead is a small, growing homestead tucked into the woods of Andover, Connecticut—built on the belief that a slower, more intentional life is worth creating.

Founded by Caitlyn Grabenstein and her husband Nick, the homestead began as a leap away from city life in Philadelphia and toward something more grounded: raising a family, working with their hands, and building a life connected to the land. While raising their son, Brooks, they are building Crying Wolf Homestead from the ground up.

Life at the homestead is hands-on and always evolving. With goats, chickens, and pigs, every day brings something new to learn. They’re not experts—they’re figuring it out as they go, embracing the process and sharing it along the way.

In addition to the homestead, Caitlyn runs her art business on the property. Known for her surreal, original collage work, she shares her art with a global audience through @cult.class.

Crying Wolf Homestead is also a place for community. Visit the farmstand for baked goods, homestead goods, Caitlyn's art, and curated items—or stop by the free library and take a book home with you.

You can follow along with the journey through weekly homestead episodes on YouTube, documenting the real moments—both the wins and the challenges.
